Storytime and Goodbye
Storytime: Choose books that have large, simple pictures. Books that have repetetive phrases work well and kids love having a “part” in the story. Allowing them to say certain repeated words or phrases makes them to feel important and you will have an easier time keeping their attention.

Goodbye Song: (To the Tune of “Goodnight, Ladies”) Goodbye, [child’s name]. Goodbye, [child’s name]. Goodbye, [child’s name]. We’re glad you came today. (Repeat the line until each child has been sung to.)
Sometimes, if there are a lot of children or if the children are getting restless, you can sing something like: “Goodbye, girls. Goodbye, boys. Goodbye, everyone. We’re glad you came today.” Some of our leaders even liked to be creative and sing goodbye to things that corresponded to songs and stories from other segments. For instance, during Christmas we’d sing goodbye to reindeers and snowmen.
