An Activity to Write Home About

By Rebecca | April 1, 2008

This week the youth of our ward visited the homes of ward members and presented the first discussion to the family. It proved to be a spiritually uplifting and overall success as an activity.

The youth arrived at the church 15 minutes early for their midweek activity. They were dressed in Sunday clothing and separated into pairs. Each companionship was accompanied by an adult, either one of the leaders or another volunteer from the ward. The adults were likewise in Sunday dress.

The group of three (2 youth companions and an adult) traveled to the home of a ward member. The members had signed up previously to help with the activity. At the home they ate dinner with the family before sharing the first discussion. The adult helped to facilitate conversation as well as supervise.

The activity touched the lives of all who participated and, as one leader pointed out, “even the young men liked it.”
